XLX invests in companies or projects within the resources and energy sectors, including businesses that service these sectors. This includes a broad spectrum of industries including:

  • bulk commodities
  • businesses that service the resource and energy sectors
  • base metals
  • precious metals
  • industrial minerals
  • conventional and unconventional oil and gas
  • power generation including renewables
  • related infrastructure


XLX adopts a flexible approach to investing and will consider investments:

  • at the project or corporate level
  • in private or publically listed companies
  • in equity or hybrid capital
  • for organic expansion, resource definition, buy-out or distressed asset situations
  • in various structures including joint ventures and farm-ins
  • short or long-term holding periods
  • in Australian or international jurisdictions

Stage of development

XLX typically invests in companies and projects in the early to mid-stage of development. However, XLX will also consider unique opportunities, such as operating projects that no longer form part of the strategic plan of a large corporate.

Active management approach

XLX takes an active approach to managing its investee companies, leveraging the team’s extensive experience to grow the company or advance the project. XLX works collaboratively with management teams to assist in developing the strategic direction and financial position of an investee company.
